Neurology Technologist

The neurology technologist is responsible for providing various electroencephalogram studies (EEG, EMG, Evoked Potential) as ordered by a physician for patients from neonatal to geriatric age. This individual will provide clinical oversight for non-registered technicians performing EEG procedures. In addition, this individual will act as a super-user/system administrator for the digital EEG system and long-term EEG monitoring systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs various types of electroencephalogram studies.
• Obtains patient history from medical record, documents information in digital EEG system. Ensures patient orders and charges are correct and appropriate.
• Maintains the digital EEG and long-term monitoring systems. Clips long-term monitoring studies to reduce required server space.
• Provides clinical oversight for unregistered EEG technicians. Ensures and measures the clinical quality of EEG procedures performed.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

• A minimum of one year adult and pediatric neurology experience preferred must be in a clinical setting.
• NICU/PICU experience required.
• EMG and Evoked Potential experience preferred.
• Knowledge of digital EEG systems preferred.

Required Education:

• High school education.
• College education preferred.
• Graduate of accredited EEG program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

• BLS.
• EEG registry required within one year of employment.

Hourly Rate: $28.63 - $44.54. The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
