LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, and goal-driven individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist in Cullman, AL. In this role, you'll help provide lifesaving blood products to hospitals and patients while ensuring donors have a safe and positive donation experience.

What You'll Do

• Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Collect blood using automated instruments once trained
• Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS)
• Determine donor eligibility based on donor interview and physical assessment results
• Accurately identify donors throughout every step of the donation process
• Assist with donor recruitment, tele-recruitment, and donor rescheduling efforts
• Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver's license required and must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
• Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications
• Previous customer service experience preferred

To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.
