Medical Laboratory Technician

Role Description The Medical Laboratory Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Monterey, CA. This position is responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests in support of clinical care, ensuring accurate and timely results. Day-to-day tasks include preparing specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, following standardized procedures, and documenting results in laboratory information systems. The technician will monitor quality control measures, assist with troubleshooting test discrepancies, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards. Collaboration with clinicians and other laboratory staff is key to supporting diagnostic decisions and overall patient care. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine skills to perform and interpret diagnostic tests accurately. Candidates should possess solid Laboratory Skills and proficiency with Laboratory Equipment to prepare specimens and operate instruments safely and efficiently. Candidates should possess experience with Quality Control processes to ensure reliability, compliance, and consistency of laboratory results. Relevant certifications or licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (or equivalent) in California are preferred. Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field; bachelor’s degree is a plus. Knowledge of clinical laboratory safety standards, infection control, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, OSHA). Strong attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and ability to follow standardized protocols. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
