Job Summary The Software Engineer will perform the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) as part of an Agile team building a large complex enterprise system. Responsibilities include turning user stories into implementation, performing unit testing, integration and system testing, deployment, and following behavior‑driven development (BDD) with DevOps automation. Opportunities span server‑side business logic, client web applications, and user interface (UI) development using Java, Python, embedded C/C++, Java cryptographic framework, XML, Angular/JavaScript/CSS/HTML, and special purpose device programming. Primary Responsibilities The Engineer will work individually and with an Agile team, engaging in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, PI planning, and related activities. They will analyze complex system requirements, use design tools, support formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other design techniques, and apply sound software engineering principles to produce code that is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault‑tolerant, and reusable. They will manage the coding portion of the SDLC, promote code reuse and cross‑program collaboration, reduce maintenance costs by creating common functions, and engineer, author, tune, and document automation scripts in the development environment for deployment to test/production. Basic Qualifications BS with 4‑8 years of relevant experience or MS with 2‑6 years; degree may be substituted for experience. Must have demonstrated experience with Java. Experience with multiple Java frameworks (Spring Boot/Data, JEE, JPA, EJB, JTA, Servlet, Jackson, Jersey, Swing, JavaFX). Experience with languages such as JavaScript, Python, C/C++, Groovy, SQL. Experience developing on Windows operating systems. Documented professional experience with web services. Strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Independent thinker capable of high quality work both independently and on a team in a fast‑moving environment. Clearance Required: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph on Day One. Preferred Qualifications Experience with JEE (EJB, JPA, JTA, JAX‑B, JAX‑RS, JAX‑WS), SQL, application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss), Spring, and scripting.
