Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing oversees clinical and administrative operations for nursing teams, including infusion and clinic nurses, nurse navigators, referral intake, and scheduling staff. This role ensures high-quality patient care, staff development, and compliance with clinical research protocols, while also providing hands‑on support for infusion procedures and maintaining efficient workflows. Responsibilities Lead and supervise nursing teams, including infusion nurses, clinic nurses, nurse navigators, referral intake, and scheduling staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Provide direct clinical support for infusion procedures, including chemotherapy administration, and assist with vascular access for cancer patients as needed. Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff competency, ongoing education, and adherence to internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee compliance with standard operating procedures, participate in regular reviews, and update processes to enhance patient care and research operations. Serve as a nurse educator and preceptor for new clinical research staff, supporting onboarding and continuous learning for nurses and coordinators. Utilize process improvement techniques to identify and address workflow inefficiencies, supporting high-quality, compliant care delivery in clinical research settings. Review clinical research protocols for operational feasibility, manage study allocation among coordinators, and track key metrics related to patient referrals, visits, and enrollment. Collaborate with regulatory, quality, site development, pharmacy, and finance teams to ensure successful care delivery and compliance with federal, GCP, and regulatory standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; advanced degree in nursing or leadership preferred. Active RN license in good standing with the state.
