Power BI Financial Analyst

Make an impact supporting the

NIAD Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology (OCICB) Financial Management Office.

Lynch Consultants is seeking a

Power BI Financial Analyst

who can transform federal budget data into decision-ready insight. If you have strong Power BI development skills and a background in budgeting or financial management, this position is for you!

Only applicants who fully meet all required qualifications will be considered for further review. Salary:

$120,000 to $140,000/yr. Commensurate with experience.

Work Location and Schedule: Rockville, MD Hybrid schedule: At least 2 days onsite per week. Additional onsite presence may be required for meetings, deliverables, and senior leadership briefings.

Required Qualifications – Must Have: MUST

have a BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. MUST

have

10+ years of Federal experience,

including at least

7 years

in financial reporting or budget analysis. MUST

be able to obtain OR maintain a Public Trust clearance. MUST have knowledge of federal budget formulation and execution (commitments, obligations, expenditures, spend plans). MUST

have advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including

Power Query data modeling, DAX, publishing and managing reports in the Power BI Service. MUST

have demonstrated ability to communicate

complex financial data

to senior leadership through dashboards, briefings and presentations. Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate. Experience using

python for data cleansing, transformation, and report automation. Familiarity with

NIH, HHS, or federal financial management systems. Job Duties: Design, build

,

and maintain

Power BI dashboards and reports for financial/budget data. Connect to and transform financial data from multiple sources using Power Query, and build

star-schema data models with federal fiscal-year date tables. Publish and manage content in the Power BI Service,

including scheduled refresh, workspace and app distribution, and row-level security for sensitive financial data. Automate

recurring monthly financial status reports

and respond to short-turnaround data requests from Program Managers, CORs, and the CIO. Present dashboards and financial findings to senior leadership through

briefings and presentations.

Skills: Knowledge of Power BI

row-level security, performance tuning, and data governance practices. Experience writing

SQL queries

to extract and

prepare data

for reporting.
