Instructional Assistant IA, Student Support – (ESE) for PreK (2026‑2027) Starting Date: Aug 10, 2026 Location: Sunray Elementary School, 4815 Sunray Dr., Holiday, FL 34690 Specialty: Special Education, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) for Pre K Employment Status: Full‑Time, Benefit Eligible Job Summary Assist teacher(s) in providing a well‑organized, smoothly functioning educational environment where students can fully benefit from the instructional program and available resources under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher, in the context of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) programs. Responsibilities Provide instructional and behavioral support to students in an ESE setting. Assist in implementing individualized education plans and related accommodations. Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment and assist with daily classroom routines. Support classroom activities and contribute to student engagement and achievement. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to support student progress. Education, Training & Experience Associate degree from an accredited institution in Education or a related field. Or, 60 semester hours of college/university‑level coursework from an accredited institution. Or, a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment (condition of employment). All applicants must satisfactorily complete required trainings. All applicants must meet mandatory federal and state health requirements. Certificates, Licences & Registrations Pediatric First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). First Aid. Medication administration. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). CPR, First Aid, and CPI trainings must be renewed as required. Background Screening Employers will use the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse for fingerprinting and Level II background screening.
