Nested Montessori Family Childcare in Trumbull is looking for dependable part-time childcare assistants or substitutes to join our newly expanded program. We provide a warm, structured, and nurturing Montessori environment for young children and are looking for reliable, proactive individuals to fill our daily shifts.

Critical Requirement: Absolute Punctuality

Our most critical, fast-paced times of the day are our student drop-off and pickup transitions. Perfect punctuality is required for this role to ensure we maintain our licensed child-to-staff ratios and provide a smooth, stress-free experience for our families. Available Shifts

We are looking for coverage during the following precise blocks. Applicants may apply for one or both shifts:

• Shift 1 (Morning / Midday): 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM (Must arrive precisely at 8:00 AM to support the immediate student arrival transition, followed by morning work cycles, outdoor play, and lunch setup).
• Shift 2 (Afternoon / Dismissal): 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (Arrive exactly as children wake up from naptime to assist with afternoon snacks, activities, and managing the critical end-of-day dismissal transition ).
• Please clearly specify your shift preference when applying.

Pay & Benefits

• Hourly Range: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
• Starting hourly rate is determined based on the applicant's experience, Montessori familiarity, OEC background status, and weekly schedule availability.
• Professional development support, including CDA credential guidance and mentorship for future family childcare entrepreneurs.

Core Responsibilities

• Assisting with morning drop-offs and evening pickups (our busiest transitions).
• Supporting daily Montessori classroom routines and child transitions.
• Helping with meals, snack times, kitchen prep, and light cleaning.
• Supervising outdoor play and ensuring child safety.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strict punctuality, strong reliability, and a proactive mindset.
• A genuine love for working with young children.
• OEC Compliance: Must be currently OEC-approved as a family childcare assistant/substitute OR able to successfully complete the required OEC background check and fingerprinting process before your official start date.
• Safety Certifications: Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required (or must be obtained before starting).
