ICU Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. This position requires critical thinking and strong abilities to manage complex patient needs in the Intensive Care Unit.Position DetailsUnit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekPatient Ratios: 1 to 1-2, with 90% of the time being 1 to 2Weekend Requirements: Every other weekendQualificationsExperience: Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience required; previous travel experience preferredCertifications: ACLS and BLS Certification requiredPALS preferred; required if the traveler stays longer than 6 monthsCOVID Vaccine RequiredNIHSS certification preferredEssential Skills: Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies is mandatoryAbility to titrate drips, including vasopressors and sedationFamiliarity with managing post-TPA patientsUnit InformationBed Capacity: 30 bedsStaffing: 1 Unit Tech for 30 beds, primarily providing secretarial supportMedical Staff: Intensivist available 24/7, Respiratory Therapist assigned to ICUEquipment: Access to Hamilton vents and telemetry monitorsAdditional InformationAll candidates will undergo a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site, which is a pass/fail assessment.Holiday requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.Travelers may be required to float to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surg units as needed.Candidates must be adaptable, willing to work hard, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.Orientation lasts for one day, with additional training provided as necessary.
