Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: $70,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements:

• We require systems engineering expertise, ideally aligned with INCOSE or an equivalent framework.
• We require hands-on experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
• We require knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety practices.
• We require proficiency with requirements management tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion.
• We require familiarity with the V-model development lifecycle.
• We require understanding of vehicle electrical architecture.
• We prefer a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• We prefer 5+ years of experience in automotive systems.
• We prefer ISO 26262 certification.

• We serve as the technical systems lead during customer pursuits and early program stages, acting as the main bridge between customer engineering teams and our internal functions.
• We lead technical responses for RFIs and RFQs, interpreting and negotiating customer, regulatory, and internal standards, identifying gaps and risks, and translating customer needs into compliant system-level proposals.
• We drive early requirements analysis and feasibility reviews, including functional safety and ASPICE-related considerations.
• We coordinate cross-functional teams across systems, electrical, mechanical, BMS, manufacturing, and supply chain to shape concepts, assess feasibility, and balance cost, performance, and timing.
• We define preliminary system architectures and concepts, including platform reuse, scalability, cell selection, sizing strategies, and integration with vehicle domains such as power net, ADAS, and zonal architectures.
• We establish system-level performance targets and constraints tailored to customer use cases.
• We guide requirements cascading for quoting and ensure subsystem assumptions remain technically sound and traceable.
• We assess early design trade-offs between performance, cost, manufacturability, and risk to strengthen our competitive position.
• We lead system-level risk identification and mitigation planning, including preliminary DFMEA inputs, technical risk registers, and assumption tracking for quote accuracy.
• We support concept-level validation and verification planning, including high-level DVP&R alignment and identification of critical test and timing risks.
• We own technical pursuit documentation, including system concepts, architecture descriptions, assumptions lists, risk assessments, and customer presentation materials.
• We provide technical leadership in pursuit reviews and bid/no-bid decisions, clearly presenting risks, mitigation actions, and competitive differentiation.
