Senior Project Manager

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Manager to work in our Lakewood, CO; Salt Lake City, UT or Phoenix, AZ office. The role involves leading projects with our Earth & Environment Team and supporting clients through the full project lifecycle, including commercial, technical, and administrative components. Your Impact Oversee cross‑functional teams to execute mid‑level or multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, hours, expenses, deliverables, and contractual obligations. Lead the development of proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans. Develop work breakdown structure (WBS) tasks and estimated costs. Establish technical reviews, select qualified staff, and maintain QA/QC records. Mentor project team members for professional growth. Conduct margin analyses, risk contingencies, and contract negotiations. Prepare and update project initiation and management documents (risk, PMP, QP, PSP, communications plan). Facilitate kick‑off meetings and maintain client communication, reporting status, safety incidents, and major issues. Monitor project metrics with Project Accounting, including budgeted margin, cash management, and forecasting. Oversee budgeting, scheduling, cost, change management, and control. Coordinate with managers for resource and subcontracting needs. Provide regular project reporting to clients and leadership. Track accounts receivable and unbilled revenue. Close out procurements and supplier agreements. Conduct lessons‑learned meetings and complete formal closeout activities. Apply ethical decision‑making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related major, or equivalent experience. Essential project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP‑M). 5‑7 years of post‑education experience in a project management role within the industry. Proficient in project delivery processes in architecture, engineering, and construction. Highly proficient analytical, organizational, and business acumen skills. Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for leadership, subcontractors, and employees. Self‑leadership with attention to detail, multitasking, and adaptability. Independent guidance and leadership of mid‑to‑senior level teams with strict QA/QC adherence. Proficiency with technical writing, automation, relevant software (MS Office, Visio, Project, SharePoint) and project management tools. Experience providing critical document review and high‑complexity deliverables. Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources and directing consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors. Track record of workplace safety and compliance with WSP policies. Ability to work schedules beyond the typical work week. Occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Engineering.
