Registered Nurse Telemetry

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse - Telemetry is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The nurse will float between units as needed and maintain patient care ratios of approximately 1:4-5. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential to effectively manage the care of patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor telemetry data.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Float between units as required to meet staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and telemetry readings.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for field work if applicable.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in telemetry or critical care units.
• Certification in telemetry or cardiac monitoring.
• Previous experience floating between multiple units.

Special Considerations:

• Floating between different units as staffing needs dictate.
• No on-call requirements.
• Weekend shifts required, averaging 6 shifts every 6 weeks.
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:5.
• 48-hour work periods are not approved.

Scheduling:

• Weekend shifts required as part of the schedule.
• Block scheduling status is unknown.
• Shift assignments may vary due to floating responsibilities.
