Private Wealth Associate – Pittsburgh or Charlotte

Direct Counsel represents a leading AmLaw 100 firm seeking a junior to mid-level Private Wealth Associate to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience in estate planning, tax, trust administration, and business succession to work with high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices.

About the Role

The attorney will handle sophisticated estate and tax planning matters while working closely with experienced attorneys and gaining increasing responsibility and direct client contact.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft wills, trusts, settlement agreements, shareholder agreements , and other estate planning documents.
• Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on estate and tax planning .
• Support estate and trust administration matters.
• Assist with business succession and family business planning .
• Conduct legal and tax research and assist with transfer tax return preparation .
• Manage multiple projects and maintain direct client relationships.
• Collaborate with attorneys and professional teams on complex private wealth matters.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in private wealth, estate planning, tax, or trust administration.
• Strong drafting, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently.
• Strong academic credentials and commitment to client service.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or South Carolina , or eligible to waive in.
• Willingness to obtain Florida bar admission .

Locations: Pittsburgh, PA or Charlotte, NC
Experience: 2–5 years
Compensation: $210,000–$330,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
