We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our Clayton office. The ideal candidate takes ownership of customer needs, communicates effectively, follows through on commitments, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers by phone, email, text, and in person.
• Assist with questions regarding policies, coverage, billing, payments, claims, and account needs.
• Process policy changes, renewals, cancellations, and other customer requests accurately and efficiently.
• Take ownership of customer concerns and follow through until issues are addressed or resolved.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and account activity.
• Help customers understand their coverage and connect them with the appropriate team member when needed.
• Proactively assist with customer retention and follow up on outstanding policy or account issues.
• Identify potential insurance needs and refer sales opportunities to the appropriate licensed team member.
• Assist with quotes, customer outreach, and new business follow-up as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with the agency team and contribute to an organized, positive, and accountable office environment.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required; insurance, banking, or financial services experience preferred.
• California Property & Casualty insurance license preferred.
• California Life & Health insurance license is a plus.
• Candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing and able to obtain required insurance licensing within an agreed-upon timeframe.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, dependable, positive, and comfortable handling difficult customer situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.

Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

• Our mission is to help people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams.
• We help customers with their insurance and financial services needs, including Auto Insurance, Home Insurance, Life Insurance, Business Insurance, Health Insurance, and Renters Insurance.
• Our office is located in Clayton.
• Our office is open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm .
• Before becoming a State Farm Agent, I was previously employed as a State Farm Employee.
• We currently have 3 team members at our agency.
• We have 50 years of combined insurance experience in our office.
• Additional languages spoken: Spanish
