Surgical Services - Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Job Description: Performs a variety of tasks related to the preparation of instruments and equipment for procedures and surgeries. Operates sterilizing decontamination units utilizing different agents which may include steam, hydrogen peroxide, paracetic acid, ethylene oxide and glutaraldehyde. Responsibilities include but are not limited to instrument processing, distribution, inventory, equipment and record keeping functions under general guideance. Requirements: - HS Diploma or GED equivalent - 2 years of experience as an SPT - Elementary computer procedures as they apply to equipment supply tracking, ordering and preference/ pick list generation, knowledge of basic inventory control concepts and PAR systems. CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Tech OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech Shift: 5 x 8 days/mids - start times ranging from 1p-11P On call/weekend?: no requirements
