33 days (264 hours) annually including holidays and an additional 10 days (80 hours) of CME.

Practice Details: Clinic facilities:

8 exam rooms and 1 treatment room with two beds. One medical assistant or registered nurse per physician primary care nurse case manager nurse triage and radiology technician. Ancillary services include Mammogram Xray and onsite laboratory services. Patient Volume:

12-17 patients per day in clinic plus 4 hours of administrative time weekly. EMR and tools include Meditech Dragon Dictation and DAX AI assisted documentation. Providers work in a well-equipped rural clinic with a dedicated treatment room managing higher-acuity cases. The community has medevac transports each month providing a unique blend of primary care urgent care and rural emergency medicine experience. Procedure opportunities:

Routine primary care skin/endometrial biopsies joint injections casting IUDs Nexplanon and suturing.

Additional Care Opportunities: Possible rotation at the Klukwan Health Center 20 miles outside of Haines. Occasional long-term care and home visits. Optional involvement in rural outreach or consultative support.

Qualifications: MD or DO with active/unrestricted Alaska medical license or ability to obtain license. Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine. Unrestricted DEA. Required: ACLS ATLS BLS NRP PALS BLSO or CALS.

Participates fully in shared local urgent/emergent care on-call rotation. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of services is accordance with SEARHC policy. Provides optimal patient experience using strong listening and communication skills. Builds long-term patient care relationships. Consults SEARHC physician as needed for patient care and uses other access to specialists as needed (i.e. AristaMD ANMC providers etc.). Provides medical services at facilities within thea SEARHC care network and other facilities and locations listed in SEARHCs compact and funding agreement with the Indian Health Service. Actively participates in SEARHC quality patient care initiatives and quality assurance programs. Actively participates in provider meetings clinic meetings and SEARHC medical staff functions. Other Functions Depending upon the location and needs of the community served participates in shared after-hours emergency call coverage. Education Certifications and Licenses Required State of Alaska Medical License as an NP or PA Board-certified in specialty by accrediting body Maintains active unrestricted DEA registration. Maintains active SEARHC medical staff privileges BLS CALS required. If no CALS must have ACLS PALS ATLS BLSO or ALSO NRP.

Experience Required Two years of experience as a practicing provider Additional clinical experience or training prior to practice as a licensed provider may be considered by the Medical Director of Primary Care Clinics to meet this minimum experience requirement.

Knowledge of Primary health care practices and principles Basic emergency care and protocols where appropriate Common disease processes and pharmacology Standards of care EMTALA HIPAA health care risk management principles medical ethics and medical malpractice principles

Skills in Effective communication skills and ability to interact with staff and patients Operating essential basic medical equipment Making proper assessments based upon history exam lab x-ray and other data Incorporating health promotion and health prevention activities into patient care Educating patients and family members about diagnoses treatment plan alternatives risks options and medications Providing high-quality health care services including the performance of medical procedures appropriate to the outpatient and emergency care setting
