JOB SUMMARY

This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the operation of a building's mechanical and utility systems. This position checks operation of all installed machinery and safety equipment periodically as programmed, as well as inspects areas of buildings for personnel and patient protection (fire, safety, and security) and recommends corrections. The Maintenance Engineer makes emergency repair of equipment or apparatus as required, and installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs mechanical and fixed equipment as directed, as well as carries out preventive maintenance programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

• Assists in major and minor utility shut down requested by various departments, outside contractors, and in-house shops.
• Complies with all hospital standards and policies with a focus on safety, license requirements, smoking, attendance, and training.
• Installs new or replacement machinery, equipment, and fixture following applicable building codes.
• Maintains and repairs various equipment used in the hospitals, which include kitchen equipment, patient related equipment, various systems, and multifunction machines.
• Operates various machine tools. (Lathe, drill press, power saw, hydraulic press, etc.)
• Performs equipment preventative maintenance.
• Performs routine inspections of building machines, noting deficiencies, and initiates repairs. As appropriate, responds to customer requests to address environmental deficiencies.
• Performs welding, brazing, and soldering in accordance with recognized and accepted standards and practices.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. License/Certification: None

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
