Cable Technician

Location : Savannah, GA

Pay : $18-$24

Contract

Key Responsibilities:


Field & Project Execution
• Read and interpret blueprints, floorplans, riser diagrams, and scope documentation.
• Ensure installations meet code, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards (TIA/BICSI/NEC).
• Complete daily work tasks and hold team accountable for quality, safety, and productivity.
• Perform installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting of:
o Structured Cabling (CAT6/CAT6A, Fiber, Coax)
o Audio Visual (displays, interactive panels, speakers, amplifiers)
o Access Control (door hardware, panels, card readers, REX, electrified strikes)
o Video Surveillance (camera mounting, aiming, focusing, coax/IP integration)
o Intrusion Systems (motion detectors, keypads, door/window contacts)



Qualifications:


• 5+ years of low voltage installation experience across multiple systems.
• 2+ years of leadership experience on commercial job sites.
• Advanced knowledge of structured cabling, security, and AV systems installation best practices.
• Familiarity with testing tools (Fluke DTX or DSX, CCTV testers, tone/probe, etc.).
• Experience with BICSI standards, NFPA, OSHA regulations.
• Strong ability to read construction drawings, risers, and device layout plans.
• Capable of lifting 50+ lbs., using ladders, and working in ceiling spaces or lift equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with clients and subcontractors.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.



Preferred Certifications:


• BICSI Installer 2 or Technician (OSP/ITS)
• OSHA 10/30
• Manufacturer-specific training (Leviton, Genetec, Hanwha, Audio Enhancement, etc.)
• AVIXA CTS or equivalent AV credentials
