Position SummaryPlan, organize and direct the overall operation of overall services in SCALF in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Develop, review, and revise standards, guidelines, forms and job descriptionsProvide and/or promote staff educational programs, monitor attendance and compliance with mandatory training as requiredParticipate in regularly scheduled management meetingsCoordinate the completion of the admission, discharge, and evaluation materials and process for all residents. Ensure appropriate documentation including functional assessments.Ensure that all resident rights and responsibilities are protected and enforcedEstablish and maintain a close liaison with residents and familiesPromote an environment that allows residents to function as independently as possibleCollaborate with the Medical Director and other professional service providersCoordinate with appropriate department directors and supervisors for services provided to the residentsMaintain all documentation required by state agenciesOrganize and promote educational opportunities for residents and familiesComply with state and federal requirements and regulationsMaintain current knowledge for scope of practice for self and support staffSeek opportunities for personal and professional growth, related to clinical standards of practice, gerontology, rehabilitation, organization, management, regulatory agencies, infection control, and interpersonal skillsMonitor usage of supplies and equipment and plan for long-range equipment replacementReview, investigate and resolve customer grievances in cooperation with the AdministratorDevelop and coordinate the QA and QI processParticipate in presentations to appropriate community organizations and individuals to meet community established occupancy goals. Promotes a positive imageMaintain and dispose of discontinued controlled substances per state pharmacy regulationsAny other duties as assigned by Executive Director or SupervisorSupervisory ResponsibilitiesRecruit, train, and schedule SCALF nursing and direct care staffSupervise all members of the Nursing department with assistance of ED including coordinating and approving time off, conducting performance evaluations, counseling, and directing and managing the workflow for the departmentSupervise staff to provide quality services in a caring environment, which strives to preserve the residents' independence and self-respect.Conduct regular staff meetings to exchange information and address issues affecting resident carePromote job satisfactionQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
