SR Estimator, Heavy Civil

Our client is a successful construction company looking for a candidate who will be responsible for the estimating of heavy civil infrastructure projects with various scopes of work including but not limited to removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, asphalt paving, airport taxiways & aprons and related scopes of work. This position will work closely with other estimators, project managers and the Chief Estimator. Candidate will need an attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Compensation Salary Range: $100k to $110k a year (based upon experience) Company Vehicle or Vehicle allowance Fuel Card Holiday Pay Vacation Pay Opportunities for advancement and career growth Responsibilities Ability to review project specifications, plans and Geotech Report, attend pre-bid meetings, determine site conditions via a site visit. Determine self-performed scope of work and subcontracted scope of work. Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, close-out bids and submit owner/agency bid documents with the direction of the Chief Estimator. Ability to solicit subcontractors and material supplies including any possible requirements for DBE or SBE subcontractors. Develop the bid packages for the various subcontractors and materials suppliers scopes of work and send out RFQs. Prepare estimates proficiently by performing take-offs, setting up the estimate file and building activities & logic in the Heavy Bid (HCSS) estimating software. Conduct bid Review with Chief Estimator and Management Team prior to bid day. Enter both subcontractor and material supplier quotes in HCSS and make awards. PositionRequirements Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil / roadway estimating including removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, asphalt paving, airport runways and related scopes of work or equivalent. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a traditional college, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent. A minimum of 7 years of Estimating including software like HCCS, Heavy Bid, AGTEK, OST, P6, Excel or equivalent.
