Why this role matters

Alora Supports provides community-based services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the communities they choose, while creating meaningful employment for the people who support them. As Regional Manager for Southeastern Missouri, you own how well that promise is kept across your territory: who we serve, how quickly we can say yes to a referral, and whether the professional managers on your team feel supported enough to stay.

What you will own

• Regional growth. You are the face of Alora with Support Coordination teams, SB40 boards, public administrators, families, and guardians in your region. You build the relationships that generate referrals and the reputation that sustains them.

• Referral pipeline. You manage referrals end to end: outreach to prospective participants and their families or guardians, choice of provider meetings, and a clean handoff into service onboarding.

• Team leadership. You supervise, coach, and develop the regional Professional Management team, and you partner with the Workforce Manager on hiring plans so new starts are staffed on time.

• Quality and compliance. You run weekly Regional Event Management Reviews, close out required follow-up on reportable events, and complete internal investigations assigned by the State Director.

• Regulatory fluency. You keep working knowledge of Missouri HCBS requirements and the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Waiver Manual current, and you translate them into practices your team can actually follow.

• Service continuity. When staffing gaps or urgent participant needs arise, you step in so services continue without interruption. This is real and occasional, not your daily job, and your State Director works with you to resolve the root cause.

What success looks like

• First 30 days: you have met the Support Coordination teams and key county partners in your region, and you know every participant and professional manager by name.

• First 90 days: referrals are moving through a pipeline you can report on, event follow-up is current, and you have a development plan for each direct report.

• First year: measurable census growth in the region, improved professional manager retention, and clean documentation on reportable events and investigations.

What you bring

Required

• Bachelor's degree in any field, or five years of relevant supervisory experience in a professional management setting.

• At least one year of experience in the intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) field.

• At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in IDD services.

• Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and ability to travel throughout Southern Missouri.

• Ability to pass background screening required for Missouri DMH providers, including Family Care Safety Registry.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field.

• Three or more years of IDD-specific experience and three or more years supervising staff.

• Working familiarity with Missouri Medicaid waiver requirements, CIMOR, EVV, or similar provider systems.

How you work

• You build trust quickly with families, guardians, and community professionals, and you follow through on what you said you would do.

• You develop people instead of only directing them, and you have kept a team together through hard staffing periods.

• You are organized enough to hold a growth pipeline, a supervision cadence, and an event review rhythm at the same time.

• You are comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on support without losing either.

Schedule, travel, and work environment

Core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to adjust around participant needs, guardian availability, and staffing demands. The role is remote and field-based: you will regularly be in the community across Southern Missouri, occasionally work extended days, and rarely travel overnight. Schedule flexibility is an essential function of the position.

Physical and other requirements: ability to drive for extended periods, work in participants’ homes and community settings, use a computer and phone for virtual meetings and documentation, and occasionally lift or assist as needed in a direct support capacity.
