As a Registered Nurse within the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, you will help advance patient care and strengthen the experience of individuals and families across our organization. The Coronary Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed unit that specializes in the care of patients with cardiovascular disease. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of cardiogenic shock, heart failure, arrythmias, myocardial infarction, and other acute or complex cardiac conditions. The CICU provides care for patients requiring advanced therapies and mechanical support such as IABP, CRRT, and LVAD. Through a patient-centered approach and collaboration with our multidisciplinary team, we deliver expert, evidence-based care, focused on optimizing patient outcomes. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire. ACLS and NIH certification is preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. CCRN and prior 3-4 years of RN experience within critical care is highly preferred and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a Part-Time Night Shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday - Friday with weekend and holiday rotations, 36 hours per week, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
