About The Position

The TCBH Clinical Department is hiring for a Medical Director. This position is responsible for providing psychiatric services, diagnosis and treatment for persons admitted to our inpatient facility. It requires care of a vulnerable population and adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements. The position also assists in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing professional service activities and programs.

Minimum Qualifications And Experience

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Oklahoma and have three (3) years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist.

Special Requirements

• Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
• Applicant must be willing and able to fulfill any job‑related travel normally associated with this position and have a valid driver’s license.

About Us

The Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health (TCBH) is a psychiatric hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, dedicated to delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centered care. TCBH provides a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that supports recovery and enhances quality of life for individuals and the community. The facility serves adults aged 18 and older who are experiencing a mental health crisis, with or without co‑occurring substance use disorders, and who are medically stable.

In response to the increasing need for mental health services in our community, TCBH is being replaced by a new facility, the Oklahoma Psychiatric Care Center (OPCC). Situated in the OSU Academic Medical District in downtown Tulsa, this modern psychiatric hospital will feature 106 inpatient beds, an expanded residency program, and an enhanced range of behavioral health services. Construction of the OPCC is currently in progress.

Drug and Alcohol Pre‑employment and Pre‑placement Testing

Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety‑sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety‑sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.

Work Hours and Location

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
