Facilities Technician

Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role will be located at our Centennial, Colorado facility.

Role Overview

The Facility Operations Technician works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and facilities teams to support, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve building systems, facility equipment, and production support infrastructure at Beehive Industries' Knoxville, TN facility. This role performs advanced preventative maintenance, independently handles a wide range of facility repairs, and supports equipment reliability and uptime across the site. The ideal candidate has solid industrial maintenance experience, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while supporting broader facility operations.

What You'll Do...

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following all procedures, rules, and regulations
• Perform advanced preventative maintenance, inspections, and corrective maintenance on facility systems and production support equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, and compressed gas systems with minimal supervision
• Perform fabrication, installation, and repair work on building systems including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, lighting, flooring, walls, and structural components
• Support maintenance and optimization of facility equipment including chillers, compressors, generators, CNC support systems, and additive manufacturing equipment
• Perform and lead routine and complex inspections of buildings and equipment, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions
• Manage and prioritize facility work orders using ticketing and asset tracking systems to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests
• Support equipment installation, relocation, setup, and commissioning activities across the facility
• Coordinate with internal teams and outside vendors for repairs, maintenance projects, and facility improvements
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and maintenance history in CMMS or tracking systems
• Communicate facility status, risks, and equipment issues to senior technicians, engineering, and leadership teams
• Support setup and breakdown of facility spaces for events, equipment moves, and operational needs
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements at all times
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance facility reliability, efficiency, and uptime

You have...

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Formal training in a mechanical, electrical, or facilities-related trade (trade school, military, apprenticeship, or technical certification preferred)

Experience

• 2-4 years of facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, construction, or related hands-on experience
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed gas, or mechanical systems
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs with a high degree of independence
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or high-reliability facility environment

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve facility and equipment issues
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
• Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work orders and priorities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS or facility maintenance tracking systems
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, reliability, and quality
• Ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced facility environment
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to urgent facility needs
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice to have...

• Experience with CNC machines, additive manufacturing equipment, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of vacuum systems, material transfer systems, and industrial piping
• Experience coordinating with outside vendors and contractors on maintenance projects
• Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement training
• Automotive, aerospace, or industrial maintenance background
• Experience improving preventative maintenance programs or facility reliability processes
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as Limble or similar systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout a facility for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
• Ability to use hand tools and perform basic physical maintenance tasks
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and facility environment requiring PPE
• Ability to climb ladders, reach overhead, and access facility equipment as needed

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $28.00-$40.00 base salary.
