Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Our team at Koch Methanol, LLC is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer in St. James, Louisiana. The candidate will support the Senior E/I Engineer in establishing and maintaining the site’s electrical and instrument reliability program. Responsibilities include serving as a technical resource for maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment specification, while working a 9/80 schedule with night and weekend coverage as needed. What You Will Do Manage the Smart Plant Instrumentation Intools database Develop and review electrical and instrument preventive‑maintenance tasks and establish execution frequencies Develop corporate dashboards featuring electrical and instrument KPIs Perform root‑cause failure analysis on electrical equipment and instrumentation Ensure the site uses the most effective, economical, and reliable technologies to meet business and customer needs Drive continuous improvement through best‑practice technology adoption to increase site asset reliability Implement change through the Management of Change process Close gaps identified by audits in the electrical and instrument programs Manage electrical and instrument projects Perform instrument calculations using Conval Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Electrical and instrumentation engineering experience Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in root‑cause failure analysis Experience with electrical and instrumentation maintenance and reliability practices Experience participating in or leading Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Ability to identify and close gaps in mechanical integrity and process safety What Will Put You Ahead 5+ years electrical and/or instrumentation engineering experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (Intools) or similar database management systems Benefits We provide medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life insurance, additional disability coverage, retirement plans, paid vacation and time off, educational assistance, and may include infertility assistance, paid parental leave, and adoption assistance.
