This role owns complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, leases, and internal-use software, and partnering closely across Finance, Legal, and the business.This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong technical foundation who enjoys working across a variety of accounting topics, digging into complex issues, and improving how work gets done in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and manage the more complex corporate accounting areas, such as internal-use-software capitalization, hosting, leases, intercompany, and intangible assetsSupport accounting for certain revenue streams, such as core-subscription, text messaging and advertising revenuePerform and review key account reconciliations, rollforwards, and accounting analyses across high-impact accountsResearch accounting guidance (e.g., ASC 350-40, ASC 606, ASC 842,) and update technical memos to support new facts and circumstancesPerform monthly variance and fluctuation analyses; translate accounting activity into clear explanations of business driversActively seek out and implement AI tools and automation to eliminate manual effort — without compromising internal controls or accuracyRedesign spreadsheet-based workflows for speed and scalability; build and maintain process documentation suitable for audit and SOX-equivalent reviewSupport interim and year-end audit processes; maintain audit-ready documentation across all owned areas at all timesAssist in managing 1–2 accounting professionals and review their work; provide technical coaching, work product review, and ongoing development feedbackRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 4+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or a mix of public and industry experienceStrong technical accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), IUS (ASC 350-40), and leases (ASC 842)Experience preparing reconciliations, rollforwards, and financial analysesExperience supporting process improvements or automation initiativesUnderstanding of internal controls and audit processesCollaborate effectively with accounting team members with varying skill levelsAdvanced Excel skillsPreferred Qualifications:CPA preferred, not requiredExperience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systemExperience in SaaS or start-up company environmentsExposure to international accounting or multi-entity structuresThe base salary range for this role is $140,000.00 to $160,000.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each specific candidate; including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location.
