Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital is a 60-bed acute-care hospital located in the Horizon West community of Winter Garden, Florida. The facility offers a full complement of services, including heart care, digestive health, emergency care, outpatient imaging and lab, orthopedics and sports medicine, and reflux and esophageal disorders. Advanced surgical services include minimally invasive and robotic surgery options with specialty in general, thoracic, podiatric, orthopedic and advanced gynecologic procedures. The Environmental Services Technician II is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. The role ensures daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience.

Responsibilities include responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and ancillary areas, replenishing supplies, removing bio-medical waste, trash, and soiled linen, operating UV disinfection machines, participating in departmental performance improvement initiatives, following infection prevention practices, recognizing and adhering to patient privacy requirements, assisting in onboarding new Environmental Services Technicians, reporting unsafe situations, maintaining compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, and demonstrating knowledge of facility safety requirements.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED preferred, two (2) years of experience in healthcare support services, EVS, hospitality, or a related field.
