Position Description

Position Summary

An Electrical Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work along-side our engineering leadership. This Design Engineer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities & education markets.

Essential Functions:

Drafting of electrical construction drawings including details, plans & sections.
Electrical load and energy calculations
Design of electrical power and lighting systems
Design of fire alarm systems
Selection of electrical equipment
Coordinating with other engineering and architectural trades during design
Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit
Participate in developing details, equipment schedules and specifications.
Research and assesses building performance and other regulations.
Contribute to design discussions and carry design concept through to project drawings.
Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainable strategies.
Coordinate and communicate with other team members.

Position Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting
Minimum 8-years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm.
Ability to work with minimal assistance from senior staff.
PE not required but a plus.
AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required.
