University of Maryland Saint Joseph Medical Center (UMSJMC), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System and located in Towson, Maryland, has an excellent, full-time opportunity available for a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team.

Job specifics:

• Seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented NP/PA to work with a team of Pulmonary and Critical Care Providers.
• Applicants must have the ability to diagnose patients and implement a plan of care for acute and chronic health conditions in the intensive care unit.
• Closed Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
• 16 bed MSICU, 6 bed Intermediate Care Unit.
• Part-time position available. Night-shift availability is preferred.
• CMS 5 Star, LeapFrog Grade "A" Hospital.
• #1 Community Hospital in Maryland, US News and World Report.

Qualifications

Education:

• 4 year / Bachelor's Degree: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (Required)
• Master's Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration:

• BLS Certification (Required)
• Physician Assistant (Required)
• Registration from Maryland State Board of Physicians (Required)
• Nurse Practitioner License with Maryland Board of Nursing (required)

Experience and Skills:

• 0 - 1 year Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (Required)
• 2 - 4 years Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)

Required Skills: Strong critical care patient management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
