Job Title: RN- Medical Surgical Job Location: Dayton, OH Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12 hrs, 48 hours guaranteed Start Date: 07/27/2026 Positions: 1 Block Schedules: No Job Requirements & Qualifications: Previous Charge Experience Years of Experience: 2 years Charting System: Preferred Epic Trauma Level I Experience: Preferred Travel Experience Required: No Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Skills: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting and maintaining IVs Medications (Heparin, Insulin, PCA) Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response (Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry) Endocrine/Metabolic (IV insulin protocols) Plastics (Surgical drains) Tele: Telemetry Unit Level 1 Trauma Experience Unit Details: Float Required: Yes Weekend Coverage: Every Other Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 Request Orientation Hours: 24 Facility & Patient Care Details: Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Daily Census: 21 Number of Rooms: 36 Number of Beds: 36 Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation Special Procedures/Unit Details: Medical Surgical Orthopedic and neuro patient population. Common patients: traumatic hip fractures, elective spine surgeries, other traumatic orthopedic injuries. Pre and post inpatient surgical care including heart monitors, drains, PCAs, Ketamine drips. Special Equipment: Sara Steady, CADD pumps for ketamine infusion post spine surgery. Job Overview: Provide medical‑surgical patient care with a focus on orthopedic and trauma cases. Participate in a team nursing model partnering RNs, LPNs, and PCTs to care for patient groups. Function in team nursing or primary nursing as unit needs dictate. MUST PASS an online EKG competency course. Must have BLS and NIH required, EPIC experience required, 1.5 years experience in a Level 1 or 2 preferred. Floating: Traveler first to float per Premier's discretion. Agency will float in/out of specialty clusters including high‑risk respiratory units/COVID. Must be available to work every other weekend/holiday. Premier Health reserves right to cancel shifts due to low census per 13‑week contract and to cancel agreement with 2 weeks notice without fee or fine. Travelers are not eligible for Premier Health employee incentives. RTO: Request RTO with initial submittal; no RTO will be added after the offer. RTO approval at Manager's discretion. Submittal email must include application and current Nursys report; other certs not needed if listed on application.
