Commercial Lender

Commercial LenderJohn Marshall Bank is looking for an experienced Commercial Lender in Woodbridge, VA. This person would be responsible for business development and a designated portfolio of loan and deposit relationships with premier companies in the region. In this critical role, you will work closely with Regional Management to maintain and grow profitable relationships with these companies and will also represent the Bank in the community at high profile events.Primary Responsibilities:Proactively source new commercial and consumer clients through networking, referrals, industry organizations, and targeted business development activitiesProvide a high level of service to clients and prospects seeking loan and/or deposit relationships by understanding clients' needs and delivering tailored financial solutionsInterview applicants and evaluate data to determine credit worthiness, and make informed relationship recommendationsStructure, negotiate, and close commercial loans that align with the Bank's credit policies and profitability goalsCollaborate with credit analysts and other lending colleagues to ensure timely and accurate loan processingMonitor existing loans to ensure compliance with terms and maintain accurate, complete credit filesMake qualified referrals to merchant card, insurance, purchase card, business banking and consumer loan partnersWork independently at times or as a member of a team at times, with high motivation to achieve goals with minimal supervisionMentor junior relationship managers and lending associates as neededFollow industry trends, competitor activity, and local market conditions to identify opportunities and mitigate riskRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeAt least 5 years of commercial loan portfolio management and related experienceAt least 2 years of Commercial Banking experience in Prince William County, VAStrong experience and knowledge of financial analysis and banking credit principlesBasic to advanced understanding of deposit and treasury management products and servicesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or related fieldAt least 2 years of experience as a Senior Level Commercial Lender with a financial institutionExcellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage prospects, clients, COIs, and internal stakeholdersProven ability to exceed sales goalsCompensation for this role ranges from $150,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.At John Marshall Bank, we pride ourselves on being able to attract the best talent in the industry, therefore we offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes:MedicalDental401K Retirement Plan w/ an Employer MatchVisionEmployee Assistance ProgramFlexible SpendingTransit ReimbursementLong Term CarePaid Time OffLife and Disability CoverageJohn Marshall Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.At this time, John Marshall Bank will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
