Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. The role involves diagnosing, monitoring, and treating simple to complex conditions without surgery. This position is intended for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology. It is also suitable for experienced Imaging professionals wishing to begin a career in this discipline. Responsibilities include assisting Providers in performing various minimally invasive procedures. These procedures may include cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, and more. The technologist utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diverse procedures. Ensuring procedures are performed safely and with the highest quality standards is essential. The role also involves preparing patients for procedures and providing comfort. The technologist acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures. Maintaining a sterile field and adhering to safety protocols is required. Responding to inquiries from patients and family members is an important aspect of the role. The technologist collaborates with team members to provide exceptional patient care. Conducting post-testing quality reviews and confirming documentation alignment with standards is required. Transferring images and data to the appropriate electronic health system is necessary. Performing quality control checks and maintaining equipment as per guidelines is a key responsibility. The technologist assists with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested. Providing on-call clinical coverage outside regular duty hours may be required. Supporting academic partnerships and engaging in teaching of students may also be part of the role. The technologist may serve as a departmental preceptor and assist in onboarding new team members. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
