Junior Network Specialist

Job Description Parsons is seeking a Junior Network Specialist to support the design, documentation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network and communications infrastructure for transportation and smart mobility projects in the Chicago, IL area. This entry‑level role will work closely with senior engineers, designers, and project managers to support intelligent transportation systems, fiber optic networks, field communications equipment, and related roadside technology. The position is ideal for a junior‑level candidate who has foundational knowledge of networking and infrastructure systems and is interested in growing within transportation technology and smart mobility. Responsibilities Support the design, documentation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network and communications infrastructure. Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and project managers on ITS, fiber‑optic networks, field communications equipment, and roadside technology. Assist in planning, design, building, and modernizing critical infrastructure for transportation and smart mobility projects. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Typically 2+ years of related work experience. Foundational knowledge of networking and infrastructure systems.
