Monitors patient condition and reports changes in status as align with department policy.May travel to satellite locations to perform diagnostic procedures.Performs advanced diagnostic imaging (3D, myocardial mechanics, mechanical circulatory support devices, transcatheter therapies, etc.), when applicable.Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes imaging results and takes appropriate action to improve image quality for optimal results. Enters, transmits, and reports thorough comprehensive preliminary report of study data to physician staff.Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Applies safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. In lieu of one year of experience, will accept credentialed new grads (within 1 year of graduation).Pediatric Echocardiography (Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital)One (1) year of experience imaging congenital heart defect and surgical repairs in an IAC accredited institution. In lieu of experience, will accept new grads (within 1 year of graduation). Must obtain credential within six (6) months of starting the position. Other Information: Education: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
