Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Specialist/ Dispatcher to lead and coordinate our service operations. This position plays a critical role in managing daily service activities, coordinating technicians, scheduling and dispatching calls, communicating with customers, and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to our high standards.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, technically knowledgeable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This person will serve as a key link between customers, field technicians, and management while helping maximize technician productivity and customer satisfaction.

Work Schedule

Full-Time — Minimum 40 hours per week Monday–Friday | 7:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and manage incoming customer calls, determine service needs, and schedule the appropriate technician using dispatching software.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the service process, addressing questions, resolving concerns, and providing timely follow-up.
• Prioritize and dispatch service calls based on technician skill level, location, job type, urgency, and availability.
• Monitor the progress of service calls and maintain accurate work orders, schedules, and service records.
• Provide technical support and assistance to electricians in the field when needed.
• Monitor service requests to ensure work is completed according to customer specifications, quality standards, and expected timelines.
• Create work orders and issue purchase orders for the Service Department.
• Plan and maintain schedules for apprentices and journeyman electricians to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Assist with estimates, takeoffs, and bids as needed.
• Track and maintain lift rentals, permits, locates, and other service-related requirements.
• Coordinate with customers, technicians, vendors, and management to keep service work moving efficiently.
• Conduct site visits as needed to monitor job quality, progress, and customer satisfaction.
• Review and process billing for completed service work.
• Identify operational challenges and opportunities for improvement, and work with management to implement more efficient processes and best practices.
• Help foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in electrical service, service management, dispatching, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to communicate effectively with field electricians.
• Proven leadership and team-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with service dispatch software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and/or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.
• Ability to make sound decisions quickly while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and operational efficiency.
• Professional, dependable, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
