Job Title: Sterile Processing Associate II

Location: New York, NY
Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• Contract Assignment
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 37.5 Hours Per Week
• 5 Days Per Week
• Weekend and Holiday Flexibility Required
• Instrument Tracking System Experience Preferred

The Sterile Processing Associate II is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role supports surgical and procedural departments by ensuring all instruments and supplies are properly processed, sterilized, and available for patient care while maintaining infection prevention and quality standards.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST Certification required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of Sterile Processing experience required.
• Experience assembling surgical instrument trays using count sheets.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes, instrument decontamination, and infection control practices.
• Ability to operate sterilization and decontamination equipment.
• Basic to intermediate MS Office skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and transport equipment and supplies.
• Flexible to work weekends and holidays as needed.

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize instrument trays according to established procedures.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and perform quality control testing.
• Identify damaged or missing instruments and coordinate replacements.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
• Utilize instrument tracking systems to document processing activities.
• Prepare and dispatch surgical case carts and specialty procedure trays.
• Follow infection control and OSHA safety standards.
• Manage storage, transportation, and distribution of sterile supplies.
• Assist with inventory management, stocking, and supply distribution.
