Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Technical Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This position is for a Senior Technical Engineer who combines strong software-development knowledge with operations experience and architectural thinking. The role involves leading the development of API services and UI components for an Open Banking channel, which facilitates user-consented data sharing with third-party products and services. The ideal candidate will diagnose and solve complex technical problems, contribute to forward planning and architecture, and work across various internal and external teams.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and solve complex technical problems rather than simply executing predefined development tasks
• Understand systems running at scale and know how to triage, troubleshoot, and break problems down
• Participate in defining technical solutions and determining what needs to be built
• Contribute to forward planning, platform lifecycle decisions, architecture, and design
• Evaluate technical decisions across application, data, caching, and other infrastructure layers
• Work effectively with multiple internal teams and external third parties
• Interface with development and infrastructure teams to support overall channel resiliency
• Represent the team in technical discussions and communicate technical information professionally

Requirements:

• Strong development background with a deep understanding of software-development concepts
• Java experience is valuable
• Understanding of APIs, systems integration, data storage, caching, and application architecture
• Background in production operations and systems at scale
• Strong technical SME with understanding of API's, OAuth 2 authorization framework, and gateway technologies
• Familiar with RESTful patterns and OAuth 2 authorization framework
• Understanding of Financial Industry standards such as Open Financial Exchange (OFX), Durable Data API (DDA) and/or Financial Data Exchange (FDX)
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Splunk, and AppDynamics
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly
• Capable of independently participating in technical problem-solving and solution definition
• Strong strategic thinker with the proven ability to execute
• Superior communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
