Experienced Fiber Journeyman LinepersonThis position assists with installation, operation, maintenance and repair of overhead fiber lines and systems.Pay: Competitive/Hourly (more detail during your interview process)Benefits:Health/Dental/Vision InsuranceShort/Long Term DisabilityMatching 401(k) PlanPaid Holidays and VacationFR Clothing ProvidedEmployee Payroll Deduction ProgramSign-On BonusPer DiemEssential Functions & Responsibilities:Assists in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of distribution, substation facilities and systems including reconductoring existing lines.Attends to service calls concerning power outages and electrical problems.Receives training both in book/classroom skills and on the job skills. Must continue to pass ongoing training to proceed to higher skill/job levels.Work will be performed at varying heights above ground, in manholes, and/or in confined spaces.Operates motorized equipment, use hand tools, and perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery, and tools.Follows safety guidelines as part of training.Stocks and services vehicles to be equipped to respond to emergency situations.Works nights, weekends, and holidays for extended periods; required to perform duties as part of recovery force during emergencies and disasters.Minimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or older.Possess problem-solving mental cognition.Able to:Work with hands above head for extended periods of time.Walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.Meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck and all other existing equipment as identified by manufacturer.Work efficiently and effectively from heights.Identify the hazards on the job.Climb a power pole using climbing hooks and belt.Drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew, operate digger derrick to set poles, and use jackhammer, etc.Work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.Education & Experience:Journeyman Lineperson Certification required.Pre-Screen:Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.License & Certifications:Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.Travel Requirements:Responds to emergencies during holidays, weekends and national disasters.May require travel away from show up areaPhysical Requirements:OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Sitting, Kneeling, and CrawlingFREQUENT (up to 66%): Stooping, Squatting, Body Twisting, Manual Dexterity, Reading, Climbing Ladders, Climbing On/Off Truck, Climbing Poles, Gripping, and Climbing StairsCONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, Walking, Sense of Touch, Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Seeing, Reaching, Range of Motion, Hearing-Speech Range, Depth Perception, Color Vision, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting Over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Balancing, Lifting Up to 10 lbs., and Lifting Up to 50 lbs.Individuals with a disability who desire a reasonable accommodation can contact the ADA Coordinator by calling View phone number on click.appcast.io.
