Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Day/Night Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical/surgical patients, including those experiencing behavioral disturbances, on a 32-bed inpatient unit
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting
• Operate unit equipment including telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Acuivein, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Float to other medical/surgical units across multiple campuses within the Fargo area as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; candidates currently on their first travel assignment will not be considered
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced inpatient medical/surgical environment
• Familiarity with Philips monitoring systems and telemetry
• Experience with behavioral health patient populations within a medical/surgical setting
