Job Title: Materials Specialist

Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080
Employment Type: W2 Contract – 4 Months with Possibility for Extensions
Pay Rate: $21.00–$24.83/hour – Based on experience (Paid Weekly)
Work Schedule: 8 Hours per Day, 40 Hours per Week; Overtime as Needed

Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C and C2H will not be considered.

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Materials Specialist to support our client's materials operations in South San Francisco, CA.

This position focuses on material handling, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory management, and GMP compliance in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on warehouse and forklift experience , strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate daily operations while maintaining safety, quality, and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, storage, handling, distribution, and shipping of materials.
• Verify incoming shipments, inspect material conditions, and maintain accurate receiving documentation.
• Handle and distribute GMP materials , following established storage and temperature requirements.
• Prepare shipping documents, package materials, and coordinate outgoing shipments.
• Support hazardous materials handling , including shipping manifests, package X-ray scanning, and radioactive material receiving.
• Apply asset tags to capital equipment and maintain accurate material records.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow GMP, GLP, DOT, HazMat, and workplace safety regulations .
• Maintain accurate GMP documentation and assist with training team members on established procedures.
• Coordinate daily assignments, prioritize workloads, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Collaborate with supervisors, internal departments, and warehouse personnel to meet operational goals.
• Respond to customer requests and provide updates on materials operations.
• Participate in LEAN, 5S, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives .
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Provide operational coverage across departments and work overtime when required.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or logistics .
• Forklift operating experience .
• Proficiency with material handling equipment and relevant computer applications.
• Ability to follow GMP procedures independently, maintain accurate documentation, and train others on established procedures.
• Familiarity with safe material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory practices.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid California driver's license .
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to adjust schedules, work overtime, and support different operational groups.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• College-level coursework .
• Previous experience in a leadership or team coordination role .
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling procedures .
• HazMat endorsement .
• Experience with regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology materials operations .
• Familiarity with LEAN, 5S, and continuous improvement practices .
