Accepts constructive criticism and takes action to improve.Participates in performance evaluation by preparing a self-evaluation.Strives for excellence and safety in patient care, and as necessary, challenges/or corrects errors of peers to ensure patient safety and well-being, participating in peer review.Attends workshops and in-services which meet areas of skill development needs or continuing education interest, as defined at time of hire or in annual evaluation.Attends and participates at staff meetings.Participates in formulation and implementation of unit standards.Provides leadership in patient safety by reading sentinel event alerts, implementing patient safety goals, reporting errors, near-misses, and implementing appropriately.Job Requirements:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Current licensure in Washington State required.Current BLS certificationA minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting preferredWork Environment:The work of this position is performed inside, exposing the employee to indoor environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The employee may be exposed to dust, pollens, pollutants, fumes, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common a health care environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical Demands:While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, sit, stoop and stretch. The employee will need full range of body motion, including handling and lifting of patients, should have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and medical equipment. Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports are required; specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
