Key responsibilities include: Perform quality assurance and clinical case file reviews of managed long term care plans and providers to assess compliance with applicable regulations, contractual requirements, and standards of care; Conduct on-site and desk surveys of managed long term care plans and providers, evaluating adherence to Medicaid program requirements, care delivery standards, and patient safety protocols; Prepare detailed written reports of compliance reviews and assessments, documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for corrective action; Review and analyze enrollee case records to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas of concern related to care quality and service delivery; Collaborate with survey team members and program staff to coordinate survey activities, share findings, and support follow-up on identified compliance issues; Interpret and apply healthcare regulations, policies, and regulatory guidance to inform survey determinations and compliance assessments. Minimum Qualifications : Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS Department of Health Employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service as a Health Care Surveyor 2 (Nursing), SG20 and able to meet the minimum qualifications for non-competitive appointment as seen below.Non-Competitive Candidates via NY HELPS: Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and one year of post-licensure, specialized professional administrative or professional clinical experience.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medicaid and/or Medicare or managed care program compliance and surveillance and case reviews.
