Hours Full-Time 0700-1530 Monday – Friday with rotating weekends and holidays Area: Microbiology Laboratory Location: Loyola Medicine, Maywood, IL NEW Clinical Laboratory – Features daylight access, in an open concept lab space About the Job The Medical Lab Scientist – Lab Core will support the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing utilized in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. This includes waived, moderate and high complexity testing. Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a “clinical” laboratory setting through education or work experience required. Experience in microbiology plate reading required. Responsibilities Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care. Conducts and documents established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluates the results of quality control testing and implements corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing. Participates in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures to meet the changing health care needs of our patients. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree – Medical Laboratory Science Program Specific Degrees: Medical Technology, Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Science No sponsorship available Preferred Qualifications Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW) Visa & Sponsorship Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position; this position does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
