This role combines hands on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to support safe, coordinated, and high quality outcomes outside the hospital. Core Responsibilities * Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related payer and regulatory guidelines * Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator patient records, compliance data, and care plans; communicate findings and recommendations to physicians and referral sources * Participate in discharge planning and execution for highly technical and ventilator dependent patients, ensuring smooth transitions to the home setting * Demonstrate and instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units, supplies, and proper equipment use * Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status and tolerance of therapy * Conduct clinical in services for hospital staff, referral sources, and other professionals on equipment and clinically related topics * Adhere to all patient confidentiality, HIPAA, PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling requirements * Accurately and timely document all patient care activities, assessments, procedures, communications, and outcomes in accordance with company standards * Maintain complete and up to date patient records, including prescriptions, plans of care, treatment plans, delivery tickets, and required checklists * Ensure documentation supports quality tracking, data trending, reimbursement, authorizations (including ventilator referrals), and regulatory compliance * Utilize continuing education, in services, and professional inquiry to maintain and expand role related competencies * Promote AdaptHealth through program development, operational support, educational coordination, and engagement with referral sources * Act as a clinical resource, collaborating proactively with peers and interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and optimize patient outcomes * Ensure accurate, clear, and timely verbal and written communication related to patient care and operational needs * Participate in on call rotation during non business hours in accordance with company policy * Complete all required compliance training and adhere to AdaptHealth's Compliance Program * Perform other related duties as assigned Why You're the Best Fit * Demonstrated experience providing respiratory care to ventilator patients, including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy * Strong clinical assessment, decision making, and problem solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and adapt care as needed * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams * Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain flexible in a fast paced, changing healthcare environment * Technical aptitude with Microsoft Office and clinical systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels Role Requirements * Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program * One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist * Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch * CPR certification * Valid and unrestricted driver's license Total Rewards & Benefits Program * Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage (eligible first of the month following hire) * 401(k) with company match * Paid Time Off Plans including 6 paid holidays * Employee Stock Purchase Plan * Paid Parental Bonding Leave * Short and Long-term Disability Insurance * Life and AD&D Insurance * Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) * CVS Minute Clinic and Teledoc access * Spousal Advantage Reimbursement Plan * Identity Theft Protection and Legal Plan *Applicable waiting periods apply Requirements Disclosure * Company conducted Background Check is required for all roles * Company conducted Motor Vehicle Record Check is required for driving roles * Clinical roles require valid licensure/certification, where applicable In accordance with Florida law, candidates applying for positions located in Florida are required to undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, as applicable.
