Maintenance Technician

- Responsible for general maintenance and repair of the building and its systems, material handling equipment, production and line equipment and refrigeration systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and actively manages the PM rotation.
- Performs work orders in such a manner that prioritizes Food Safety, Quality and Employee Safety.
- Follows all company safety rules and has a general knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Assures building security, safety and emergency protocols.
- Complete necessary daily paperwork accurately and legibly. This includes the completion of daily inspection sheets for any piece of equipment prior to use.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other operators and administration staff.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area. Cleans throughout the day.
- Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Perform any special projects or other assignments as needed by manager/supervisor.
- Employee must have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, to twist, bend and climb regularly. Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures (-30 F to 120 F). All employees must be able to read, write and speak English, including reading, comprehending and completing basic checklists, forms and other related documents. Successful candidates will be able to identify and resolve problems quickly and balance team and individual responsibilities. Must be consistently at work and on time.
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate Degree or Trade/Vocational training preferred. Previous experience with forklifts, pallet jacks and warehouse operations are preferred. Experience in any of the following vocations is preferred: Electrical, HVAC, Powered Industrial Equipment, and/or Commercial Refrigeration.
- Must be at least 18 years of age. Nor-Am will certify all equipment operators and ammonia operators with site specific training, valid driver's license preferred.
