Full Time Instructor, School of Nursing - MSN Required

Nursing Instructor (On‑Site) – Aurora, IL Rasmussen University is seeking an accomplished Master’s or Doctorate prepared nurse who is passionate about helping nursing students succeed. The position is full‑time, with a flexible schedule and ongoing training and support. Responsibilities Teach courses in a variety of modalities, promoting the university’s vision and mission. Deliver approximately 4.5‑5.5 work units each quarter, representing a full‑time workload. Use effective teaching strategies and multiple techniques to create an engaging learning environment. Facilitate synchronous learning sessions with live classroom tools and promote student engagement through activities and community building. Ensure class objectives are clear, relevant, and connected to course performance. Organize classroom materials efficiently and demonstrate mastery of content. Participate in curriculum and assessment development for the area of expertise. Provide student support and outreach, maintaining availability through synchronous or asynchronous communication. Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as directed by the Dean. Reporting Relationships The Instructor reports to the Nursing Administrator (or the Dean of Nursing, depending on location). Academic and Clinical Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nursing (Doctorate the preferred). Active Illinois RN license with no encumbrances. Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical‑Surgical/Telemetry/ICU; at least 1 year of teaching experience preferred. American Heart Association BLS and CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross). Preferred: 2+ years of clinical experience and prior teaching/training experience. Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Proof of professional licenses and certifications, official transcripts from accredited institutions, and applicable faculty immunization documentation.
