Social Worker II- Adult Services (Posting# 631029-2939) Description The primary purpose of this Special Assistance In-Home (SA/IH) position is to determine eligibility and provide social worker services to elderly and disabled adults who are at risk of adult care home placement. The goal of this service is to offer an alternative to adult care home placement and allow individuals to remain in the community and live as independently and safely as possible. This position will serve as the intake social worker on a rotating basis with the social workers in the unit. This position will perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution OR bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience OR bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years directly related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Possession of a valid driver’s license in the state of N.C. Acceptance that all staff may be assigned to emergency shelters or an Emergency Operations Center during disasters, as required by State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan. Compensation The hiring range for this position is $45,337 - $50,699. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.
