Position Summary
We are seeking an Automation Technician Supervisor to supervise technical teams responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of automated manufacturing and assembly equipment in a regulated medical device production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Automation Technicians responsible for equipment installation, assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Coordinate daily technician activities, maintenance priorities, and equipment support.
- Support production operations by minimizing automated equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and robotic systems.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Review and approve equipment maintenance documentation as authorized by site procedures.
- Ensure automation technicians follow safety, quality, GMP, and ISO 13485 requirements.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to resolve equipment performance issues.
- Train technicians on troubleshooting, assembly procedures, and automation equipment.
- Support equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and changeover activities.
- Track equipment downtime, maintenance performance, and recurring failures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical discipline; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of experience supporting industrial automation equipment.
- Previous experience supervising or leading technical teams.
- Experience with automated assembly machines, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical controls, sensors, motors, and pneumatics.
- Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and manufacturing safety practices.
