Senior Manager, Data Center Facilities Development United States Job Description Leads and manages the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Supervises multiple project teams, offering strategic direction and resolving any issues that may arise during project cycles. Leads the creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design review, commissioning, and problem-solving papers. Leads the management of quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards. Supervises comprehensive site walks and directs the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects. Addresses gaps in risk identification and mitigation, and communicates potential impacts to senior management. Oversees the primary point of contact role between the company and colocation providers. Leads the selection, negotiation, and management of contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and performance and construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications. Leads the installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems. Responsibilities Lead and manage construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinate with colocation providers to ensure timely milestone delivery. Manage project budgets, optimizing resource allocation to ensure cost-effective project execution. Supervise multiple project teams, offer strategic direction and resolve issues arising during project cycles. Lead creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design reviews, commissioning, and problem‑solving papers. Lead quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards. Coordinate and integrate tenant fit‑out projects, ensuring effective communication and addressing challenges during design, construction, and commissioning phases. Supervise comprehensive site walks to ensure schedule adherence, coordination, and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Direct startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects, ensuring all systems are operational and meet design specifications. Oversee evaluation of risk profiles associated with timely project delivery for multiple projects. Address gaps in risk identification and mitigation, communicate potential impacts to senior management. Develop and oversee mitigation strategies for major construction project risks. Serve as primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, ensuring clear and effective communication. Develop and maintain strategic relationships to support internal and external stakeholders. Lead selection, negotiation, and management of contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance and performance. Collaborate with design teams to ensure construction activities align with approved designs. Provide strategic colocation provider evaluation input for continuous improvement. Lead installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems. Drive cross‑functional partnerships to align on expectations and shared objectives across multiple teams. Coach team members to develop strategic relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners. Provide direction to multiple teams on addressing complex operational and technical issues. Model continuous learning and incorporate best practices into strategic planning. Drive performance across teams by providing feedback and coaching aligned with performance management processes. Manage talent acquisition pipeline by leading candidate interviews, monitoring promotion eligibility, and orchestrating talent resources.
