Senior Project ManagerJoin our client's team as a pivotal Senior Project Manager. This role will be instrumental in overseeing technical IT Project Management within the department, driving software development and business process solutions.Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership: Independently lead and oversee multiple software development and implementation projects from initiation to completion with minimal oversight.Team Direction: Direct project team members and external consultants/contractors.Document Management: Develop and maintain crucial project documentation adhering to Amtrak’s Project Lifecycle Management Plan (PLMP) framework.Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct project status meetings, produce weekly status reports, and interface with stakeholders and team members.Schedule and Resource Management: Actively manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and resolve pending issues with team members and vendors.Quality Assurance: Present projects at Quality Gates, report schedule and budget variances, and oversee testing efforts if necessary.Vendor Management: Coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, evaluate vendor responses, and ensure adherence to outlined Statements of Work (SOW).Required Skills:Experience: Minimum of ten years in hands-on IT Project Management, overseeing software development and implementation projects.Methodologies: Proficiency in both Agile and waterfall methodologies.Lifecycle Understanding: Comprehensive grasp of the software development lifecycle from inception to completion.Stakeholder Interaction: Ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.Analytical Aptitude: Strong analytical skills to address technical issues and deliver solutions.Communication: Exceptional communication and writing skills, adept at tailoring messages for various audiences.Multitasking: Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Tools Proficiency: Expertise in Jira, Confluence, MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. PMP Certification required.Optional Skills:Data and BI: Experience with data ingestion processes and BI reporting.Product Evaluation: Experience in product evaluation and selection processes.Cloud Experience: Familiarity with AWS.IT Departmental Understanding: Articulate understanding of the roles and functions of multiple IT departments and their interactions.Tools Mastery: Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project Server (EPM) and JIRA, iterative development methodologies.This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive project success within a dynamic IT environment and make a substantial impact on our initiatives.
